Finally using proper test kit

The best way to home in on the pool size is by comparing PoolMaths Effects of Adding calculations with actual results tested 30 minutes after adding liquid chlorine or muriatic acid.

Adjust your pool size up for down until calculated versus actual are close.
Thanks for making me aware of this function in the app.
Earlier, I tested the water and followed the app's recommendations to add 13 oz of muriatic acid. Prior to adding the acid, my pH was 7.8 and TA was 110. About 30 mins after adding acid, pH dropped to 7.6, which is in line with the 20k volume. However, my TA rose 15ppm, from 110 to 125. I repeated the TA test, but still got 125ppm. Maybe adding only 13 oz isn't enough for testing the effects of adding?

The app does not recommend. It calculates based on all your inputs and settings.

Great

You cannot have a result of 125 when each drop is 10ppm.

I think you are looking for a level of precision that is not in the tests.

110 versus 120 is a one drop difference. It is within the margin of error.

Not sure I understand what you mean. When I tap pH, it will tell me how much muriatic acid is needed.

This test was your recommendation to use the Effect of Adding function of the app to determine the volume of my pool. Not looking for a perfect score, just one that makes sense and is somewhat consistent.

PoolMath calculates what to add based on what you enter. You set the current value and the target.

Best to use FC or pH which react quickly to chemical additions. TA is often too little of a change to show with a single chemical dose.
