Help!! 2nd year owning a pool. Got a 24ft hard sided round above ground pool. Bought a cartridge filter and it’s a joke. I have to take out the filter multiple times a day to spray it off. Any recommendations on a different filter we should buy?

Hmm... Sounds like the filter is doing a great job. Perhaps you need a larger filter? Could also be incorrect water parameters causing algae that is clogging the filter.
Here’s what I have…brand new last summer. I’ve bought 2 cartridges and everyday I have to take it out and spray it off. After I clean it I’ll put it back in, turn it on and the water flow is strong like it was last year but after 10 mins of Pool running the psi shoots up to 30 and the water going back into the pool is very very weak. I’ve been you tubing and I’ve took every hose off numerous times to check for clogged pieces, I did numerous air leak tests…nothing…
I have a hard time believing my filter is already clogged after 10 mins of running. But to be sure I take it out again clean it put the other one back in and it does same thing…runs great for 10 mins than slows down…is this really what I have to do all summer? Every time I take the cartridge out I have to drain water to get it out of the canister thingy so than my water gets low cuz I’m doing this 4-5 times a day!!

You could always leave the filter cartridge out to see if it is the cartridge clogging up or something else. But it sounds like you may have an algae problem.

You have algae. Filters are not there to remove algae. Algae is a chemical problem and not a mechanical problem.
Sounds like your filter is working like it should.

It runs great without the filter. I had bad algae about 2 weeks ago so I slowly got rid of the visible stuff on bottom. I’ve added lotsa bleach and water isn’t green but it’s murky and every morning there sand on bottom of Pool. Yesterday I vacuumed out grit and grime without using my filter. I just opened the valve on my filter and shot the water straight out so it wouldn’t clog the filter again. Here’s what I’m using for water testing and here’s my results from this morning.

I’m stuck on what to do…my filter won’t run good after a good 10 mins so these past few days I’m so sick of cleaning filters that I shut it all off and ignore the dumb thing…so obviously my Pool isn’t gonna clear up if I don’t keep the water circulating so what’s a person to do? How do I get rid of this algae if my pump won’t run good?

The sand is most likely dead algae and when you vacuum it up it just clogs your filter.
Some filters have a vacuum to waste setting, but I doubt yours does.
Our normal recommendation is to SLAM the pool.. SLAM Process
Not sure the cost of water in your area, but it is cheaper to drain and refill where I live.

Yea no waste choice on cartridge filters. Do I keep my filter running when I’m doing the slam process?
Also should I buy the Fas-dpd test? My Taylor only test dpd…I think..

I'd probably leave the cartridge out and open the drain plug on the filter and use that as a vacuum to waste.
But, but the time you finish, it would probably cost more than to just drain and refill.
You need a FAS-DPD test so that you can test an FC about 10 ppm.

OP has an above-ground vinyl-lined pool, so I'm not sure if a full drain and refill is a good idea?
I would SLAM the pool. It is a precise process involving lots of chlorine but you cannot "just dump a bunch of chlorine in". Your best bet is to post a full set of test results and post them here.

I have to be gone all day today and I can’t babysit my cartridge filter that seems to need sprayed off every hour…Woukd it be worse to run my pump without the filter in it all day or just keep the pump off? I know the water wouldn’t be getting filtered but is that better than the water just sitting still for a few days?

I would run the pump without the filter so you're at least circulating chlorinated water.
So I got a new filter and pool is crystal clear…but I tested my water this morning and here’s what I got?

Follow the SLAM Process
Lower the pH to 7.2 using acid. Raise the FC to 12 ppm using liquid chlorine. Maintain the 12 ppm FC as often as possible. Do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test in a couple days.
