Filter replacement to a CC200

No. What volume pool? Screened in? Florida pool builders historically install tiny filters.
The goal is to not have to clean the filter more than twice a year.

Screened a 200SF filter might be OK. Personally I would go to a 300SF. Likely could go a year between cleanings.

How often are you cleaning the filter now?

About 4 to 6
Even if that is 4 to 6 times per year, that is a crazy amount of cleaning for a screened-in pool. Going from a 150 to a 200 won't result in any significant flow increase as the water still has to go through the same size inlet/outlet ports as well as the rest of the plumbing. The advantage is that it will hold more dirt. If you can, go 300 sq. ft. or larger.

+1. It's equally proportionate Rob. Go twice as big, need to clean half as often. No more, no less. You need to upgrade a good amount to even notice. 33% (150 to 200) helps, but not alot.

Remember when looking at pricing that these things last a generation. Spread the cost difference over up to 20 years and it's peanuts if you only have to clean the huge one once per year.
