Fiberglass on Slope: Retaining Wall vs. Dirt Feathering

Multiple reputable PBs quoting a 15x30 (4' - 5' 11' depth) 15k gallon Fiberglass instal on a sloped TN yard with rocky, wet & clay soil. Long side is 2' above existing grade on one corner and 2'7" on the other corner (deep end corner). Multiple quotes with site visits all included a retaining wall until the final which offered to feather the dirt as a cost saving option. The 2' side has about 10' of run and the 2' 7" side have closer to 15'+ therefore can match the 20% slope on both sides. The slope falls into woods away from house therefore no aesthetic, neighbor or drainage concerns.

Benefit is ~$9k less expenses on stacked wall and likely no spoils to haul off for additional savings. PB states feathering is no concern, will install to manufacturer spec (Leisure) and they 'have done this 100's of times with no issue'. There limit is 3' for feathering so we are close, but well below and do not know if that is a general rule or based on the space available to slope.

Should I be concerned? Thought was to bring same question to the other PBs, but only the one offered the 'Feather' option sells Leisure which is desired. Alternative PBs will install Thursday with similar specs.
