To start off, I travel for a living so getting the pool open and clear can be a challenge. My pool is green every opening.
So to get into it. Opened with CYA at 20. TA at 120. Put two gallons of 12% in and could see the bottom of the shallow in the next morning! FC was 20 the night before, 18 the next morning. Shocked with a gallon each of the next two nights and held chlorine on the third try. Pool was blue and cloudy.
Then the storms came. Shocked again and held levels but checked my CYA and it was gone ( I had added about a pound after the 20 reading.) Pool maintened chlorine but stayed super cloudy.
Then my cousin came in and suggested floc (please, I know I messed up). It didn’t do anything after leaving pump off for 3 days. So, skimmed the pool, filtered with sock, tested FC (4 with 0 CC) and the 0 CYA reading (I have granular on the way). So I figured I would go ahead and slam again to get the cloudiness out. I have added 3 gallons of the 12% and my FC has not gone up two hours later. PH is 7.2. What gives?
