Engine changed its tone

Hi, TFP!

My motor changed its pitch this week. It is a much higher tone than it used to be. Also, it appears that only one of three jets are flowing.

I know it's hard to diagnose in a forum, but I thought I'd give it a shot before going to the dreaded pool store.

What model motor/engine?

A change in pitch might indicate the bearings are showing signs of wear. How old is your motor? Seems odd though that only one of three jets are flowing. If water is moving, it's moving, albeit perhaps at a slower rate perhaps. Have you tried, with power off, inspecting the impeller area down inside the pump pot in the intake. Make sure nothing got tangled-up in there?
