Easy Touch Spa Drain Question

Hello,
This is my first post.

I have a Pentair Easytouch system and I am trying to drain my spa to clean it up a bit.

I finally figured out how to do it by going into Service Mode and pressing the V button until DRAIN some up, then manaully running the pump with the pump controls.

But I am hesitant to do this until I know how low the water level can go without risking sucking air into the pump or damaging the pump in some way.

Can anyone give me some advice on this?

Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forum!
You will start to pull air if you go down to the drains in the spa. So depending on how your drains are set up, it may leave a couple inches to 12 inches of water in the spa.

I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

A,

You won't damage your pump if it sucks a little air for a few seconds.. You just don't want to leave it that way..

That said, how dry does the spa have to be for you to clean it up a little bit???

Thanks,

Jim R.
