Came home from work and pool pump was not on. The swg was flashing low flow as pool pump not on. There are no lights on pump screen. Easy touch appears to be working as chlorinator is on and thinks pump is on. Pump for fountains comes on and works at easy touch and thru app. How do I test if pump filter getting power from easy touch? Or what should I be testing? Checked all breakers and GFCI. What should it reading on volt meter be from easy touch to pentair vsf pump?

65,

Did you reset the breaker that feed the pump?

Do you have a voltmeter?

If so, you should check for 240 Volts AC between the two hot leads going into the pump.. Make sure that when you test between the two leads you get 240 Volts AC.. Then test between each hot lead and ground and you should get 120 volts on each one. All three tests must work...

Tell us what you get..

Thanks,

Jim R.

65,

Please confirm that you tested between the two hot pump inputs and got 240 volts.. You did not just test each leg to ground and call it good..

I only ask because testing to just ground can give you a false reading, even if one leg of the 240 is missing...

Normally, even if the key pad is bad, the pump still runs when connected to an EasyTouch...

Thanks,

Jim R.

65,

My gut says that the pump is not dead, it just can't hear the EasyTouch telling it what to do.. If the Screen Does not light up, that would be an indication that the keypad area is not getting power.. I have seen that before when one leg of the 240 was missing, but you say you have 240 volts.. Although you did not directly answer my question..

As it is, the pump is not working, so if this were my pump, I would turn off the power, and remove the keypad, and then the control head and see if you can visually see any damage.

Seems like I remember a thread about water getting behind the LCD and causing issues..

I have three IntelliFlo pumps, at three pools, and they have been running great for well over 10 years, so I really have no direct experience working on the pump itself. :(

Thanks,

Jim R.

We were able to determine the drive board shorted out. Ugh! Now, if my pool builder will bother to answer so we can file a warranty claim. Had to have pool surface done three times so we are not on best terms.
