Pool was ok Overnight however the power just went out and we’re being told we might not get power again until tomorrow night. I was able to drain the pump filter etc. but I’m concerned about my heat pump. I have a Hayward heat pump and I can’t find how to drain it. The Hayward site says to just disconnect the water inlet but does that mean I have to literally disconnect the pipes going into the pump?? Thanks for any help!!

If there is a union on it it should be simple enough. You should have your breaker to your pump & heater off so nothing can be turned if power is restored. I am surprised that heat pump does not have a specific drain but if the instructions say to disconnect the pipe then the union should be undone. You may need to wiggle the unit a little to break the seal in the union.
