I've added 600lbs of salt of the 800lbs recommended. I'll keep you guys up to date. Thanks for your help!
You should be roughly 3/4 of your target, not 1/3. It’s either not fully dissolved or something else is off.......Alright I've waited 24hrs after adding 600lbs
I thought the test goes by 200s. How’d you get an odd hundred ?my current salt level is now 1500
It was my test results. I have turned the SWG back on yet. The manual says to leave off during the adding of salt...yeah.. by my calcs if you started with a salinity of 800ppm and added 600 lbs of salt, that should bring you to ~2800ppm for a 36K gal pool...are you reading the 1500 off the SWG or is that your test result?
Thank you! You guys on this forum have been a tremendous help to me since buying this house two years ago with the pool. I'm a cautious ask questions guy anyways so yes I will always ask if I'm unsure about something. Thanks again! So. Important lesson learned before doing anything rash !!! Huge super important lesson. Think on your feet and if something doesn’t seem right, test. You were perfectly following TFP protocol.
1). Test with reliable kit
2) know what you are adding
3). Know what it will do
***record scratch*. Wait. Hold up. It didn’t do it. Lemme recheck. Ahhhhh. Cool. My bad. It did what it was supposed to do.
If at any time something doesn’t seem right and/or you are unsure. Ask. Ask away. Folks will help you before you do something that cannot be undone without a substantial drain.
We LOVE to fix one problem that doesn’t snowball into 3.

Hi, Nate can you post pictures of installed CircuPool RJ60 as I am thinking of doing the same here.Alright I have the CircuPool RJ60 installed and ready to go. Now...I just saw that I need 30lbs of salt per 1,000 gallons? We have a 36,000 gallon pool. So I need 1,080lbs of salt? Just asking for confirmation before I track that much salt down. Seems like an awful lot...
We try to keep the demeanor light and welcoming around here so you don't feel self conscious about asking questions.. any question at all... well except one... ONE question will surely set off a Reddit-flame-war response:Thank you! You guys on this forum have been a tremendous help to me since buying this house two years ago with the pool. "How do these test strips work?"
Yes I will try and get some pics tomorrowHi, Nate can you post pictures of installed CircuPool RJ60 as I am thinking of doing the same here.
Thanks, Drew
Here’s the setup. And it’s all working perfectlyHi, Nate can you post pictures of installed CircuPool RJ60 as I am thinking of doing the same here.
Thanks, Drew
Nice install. I think the flow switch needed 12 inches of straight pipe before it. Not sure what effect that 22° fitting has on the switch. Probably ok. Hope you also have a timer for the SWCG and not relying on the pump unless you run pump 24/7.Here’s the setup. And it’s all working perfectly![]()
I had a local pool guy install cause I know nothing about installation so hopefully it will be ok...Also I do run my pump 24/7. I got a new one that way more efficient than my 30 year old pump I had before so I don't need to worry about run time. So far its all working and I have chlorine in the pool from the SWGNice install. Just remember if and when you do shut the pump off manually for whatever reason your are then relying on the flow switch to keep the power off for the SWCG and that's the point of a secondary switch/ timer. You then should shut the circuit breaker.....I had a local pool guy install cause I know nothing about installation so hopefully it will be ok...Also I do run my pump 24/7.
