Recently got a Dolphin Nautilus and is doing a great job with cleaning but in a few spots where it gets extreme angles climbing steps or in a corner I can see where the black corner bumpers are leaving marks on our white plaster. Anyone had this issue? They don’t come off easily with a brush. Any hints on removal or prevention? I love not having to lug out the hoses and running the pump to use the suction cleaner.

I wonder if there is something you could put over the bumper to stop it??? Do you have a video or pictures of what is happening :)

Photos of the black marks. Looks kind of like a kid with crayon in these pictures. It’s not bad but is annoying for sure. It shows up better in person. I like stuff to be as perfect as possible for as long as possible. I notice that pine needle floating 😠

It does look like crayon marks... I am still trying to think of something that would stop it and nothing comes to mind... I will keep at it :)

They are all black. Even different models, no other color options . I may try to just take them off or maybe first I’ll just put some clear gorilla tape over them and see how much abuse they actually get.

I did a easy test while it was out of the pool. I scraped the sides of the bot, the plastic as well as the rubber against concrete. Both came off really easy. I don’t know why scrubbing with a brush won’t remove it from the white plaster. Neither the plastic nor rubber really left a scuff Mark like black shoes in a gym on the concrete like I’m getting on the plaster. Very odd indeed.

I found the Dolphin thunder is white but looks like same design for other counties. Tried to order the side panels from Marina pool. I hope they are available and can make them fit.

I found they are pretty easy to remove with a scotchbrite pad. Not something you would want to do weekly but if your wife asking to clean them off like mine was.... I’m waiting on white replacement plastics from Marina pool still.

Did some pretty extensive testing. It isn’t actually the black rubber but the plastic itself. I used tape then the white marine epoxy to make like a bumper. Used for a month or so with the epoxy and no marks. Outside the USA Maytronics sells them it other colors. Ordered the 2 lower trim pieces for one of those to retrofit. Had to trim the rubber on one side to keep it from getting stuck all the time. I guess that’s why from the factory they only have the rubber bumpers on one side. All seems good now.
