First time in the pool and Wall-E decided to get a bit creative on our sun shelf. At least it meant that I got to keep up my streak of being the first person in the pool every year as I waded in to turn him upright (I wasn't sure if pulling on his cord would be the right thing to do in this case)

I would have just pulled it off using the cord..

You don't want to lift it out of the pool by the cord, but as long as most of it is under water it is not an issue..
