Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

I have an equivalent S200. No caddy needed for me and I just wanted a clean pool at the best price. I learned a while back that I generally wasn’t using features I paid extra for on most things, cars being one of the exceptions. I am much more likely to pay for quality than features if I am not going to pay for them both, which I wasn’t in this case. Just my version of robot decision making.

I bought the S200, but now I find myself wanting a caddy, because I always take the robot out of the pool once it finishes cleaning, it is a hassle to drag it around with all the wires.. how do you guys cope with that?

You can buy a caddy separately. They’re about $100. Just make sure you get the latest version designed for the S series robots as they are a little different than the older/original version. The older version doesn’t work as well and there are plenty of them floating around out there being sold as compatible. Sometimes people sell the caddy on eBay for a lot cheaper than you can get retail.

The caddy is always useful as a place to neatly store the robot and cable, but it also holds the control panel at a useful height.

I just take it out, sit on the deck to air dry a little, take out the filter to wash it down then wrap the cord and store on my patio. I have a locking gate on my patio and you can not even see the bot unless you are actually on the patio. Yes its a bit of a hassle to carry the bot from the pool area to the patio but better than putting on a caddy and the carrying both to a secure location...I’m not willing to just leave it by the pool as we have walking trails that go behind the house.

In my mind the caddy’s just not that useful and can look messy.

The caddy has wheels so you wheel it wherever it needs to go, you don’t carry it silly  And as far as messy .... how is this messy :pth:

Ok, I think this thread proves one thing - people like options! Some of us go whole-hog and get all the bells and whistles while other prefer simplicity. At the end of the day I think we all agree that these robots do an excellent job cleaning our pools and most of us would likely never go back to our previous cleaner equipment.

Yours looks nice and tidy Matt but when I saw others...well not so much. It depends on the person and I for one like things somewhat tidy and organized but not obsessive over it. In the end you are correct that robots do a fantastic job and I don’t regret at all...

Great thanks! Is that rebate only for the active 20? Where can i find it?

They have rebate for almost every model, rebate amount goes up with the model.

Can you tell this ebay listing is for newer or older model? Thanks.

Just received my S200 from Marinas yesterday. Let it go into a pool that appeared to be a pretty clean (previously serviced by the Baracuda G3) and it came back with quite a bit.

I had Marina ship with the coarse and fine filter. Since I'm in Arizona and it is monsoon season I picked up plenty of dust in the fine filter.

NOTE: Looks like I'm the third person from Arizona to post in this thread in a row. :)

Arizona checking in. I told them to replace mine they didnt, I called them and they shipped me the correct stuff and I shipped back the old filters. Those fine filters are amazing!

So I've had mine a little under a week now and have tossed it in the pool for 4 cycles now.

I'm not sure if mine is defective or what. While I believe it superbly cleans where it drives, the overall job is severely lacking in my opinion. I have a small pool with very little complicated curves or features. Yet it seems like it has consistently missed maybe 20% of my pool and never picks up any of the palm leaves that fall into the pool (never seen any in the basket). The section that it misses has a ton of black palm seeds so it is easy to see that it consistently misses them. After the robot is done there will still be 2-6 leaves in the pool. I've tried running back-to-back runs to "get it again" and it still misses these areas.

Any advice? What am I doing wrong?

Palm fronds and sticks are always a problem for my robot. If it picks up the long palm leaves, they are wrapped around the brushes. Palm seeds are like pebbles, my robot gets most of them but does occasionally miss a few.
