Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Very nice!

Thank you, I love swimming and being in the pool and now I get to enjoy looking at it as well, haha! It's still a work in progress but much less of an eyesore now.

Liner is beautiful and I love your supervisor!

Thank you! He is a very smart dog, and he loves people. This is our first GSD, and they are indeed a different breed. Some very funny and endearing traits.

He’s probably wondering what that creature is doing in his pool.

That's for sure, because he loves the water. I didn't realize GSDs were such water dogs, but he has webbed paws for a reason, haha.

chking1, your pool water looks spectacular! Way to go.

Beautiful dog too!

Thank you, the TFP method is proven and I'll never go back to anything else! The S200 helps too...

He's a good boy, and he loves attention. He's still a puppy at 15 months, but I've been told they really mellow out at 2 years and up. We'll see, haha.

Do the listed models ean teice as good as a Active 10? It seems to be twice the cost. I have an AG oval 15x30 and im curious to what you guys think would be best for me. I read all great this about the Active 20 here but the cost is super high for me. Thanks ahead if time!

Do they clean twice as much? eg: Active 20 cleans twice as much as Active 10? No it doesn't quite work that way for anything in real life. Incremental improvements across the model range.

Yes sorry for the typo (corrected)
Im wondering if the 10 will fit my needs for a AG and or would the 20 be.overkill for the money? I also need a new pump so im trying to go easy on the spending. On the otherhand i hate not getting the best or what i shouldve bought to begin with

I have an Aquabot with one brush that; aside from the reliability of the swivel I've always felt it cleaned my pool well. The brush on the aquabot is in the center of the bot instead of the front like on the Active 10, so would presume you'd get better water line cleaning than I do with my bot.

The 10 would be a better choice for an above ground pool. No need for a 20.

Well thats good news. Is that because alot of the 20 cost is in the wall climbing in which case it wont work that well on an AG? My sides in between the pillars bow out slightly so they arent 100% straight.

I have zero experience with AG pools or how robots perform, but the beauty of these water-propulsion units is that they direct a water stream out the top and sides so when it starts climbing the water propels it up and forward against the pool's sides, so "straight" isn't very critical.

I've had a Dolphin Nautilus Plus for the last 2 years. Just upgraded and bought an S200 that arrived today. Didn't need the caddy because I already had it for the Nautilus Plus and Dolphin was kind enough to send me the 3 pieces I needed to swap out to make it the S200 caddy at no cost. Can't wait to get this bad boy in the water and see how it works. Anxious to compare it to the Nautilus Plus.

Yes, that and the extra brush that spins 2x isnt as important in a vinyl liner pool as it is for plaster.

I've had my Doheny Discovery for a few months now, and I run it through a double cycle about once a week. Flawless so far, and I'm amazed at the amount of dirt it pulls out of my pool that looked pretty darn clean before I ran the robot. Not sure why everyone despises the lack of a cord swivel, I've never had mine tangle up when it's running, and it seems to work just fine without any cord tangles.

If you have a robot trying to remove the algae from your pool, you’re doing it wrong.
Algae is controlled by maintaining proper water chemistry. Robots are for removing dirt and debris.

The wife unit has declared that we need to purchase a robot.
I like the design of units in this thread. Price is important, but not as important as quality. I don't need fancy, just dependable.
Does anyone know the differences between the S200 and the Nautilus CC Plus? I believe both qualify for the rebate from Maytronics.
I've read the website info but it's confusing. The S200 has "Active Cleaning" brush and the Nautilus has 2 brushes also. I don't know the difference.
Is it simply a marketing difference? Power Stream Mobility vs. CC cleaning format. HELP me Choose one!
I think either would be fine in my 20 x 50 IG pool.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron
