Does yellow algae eat black algae?

The only way I have ever been able to get rid of black algae is drain the pool, pressure wash, spray full strength chlorine on the dry walls. I had a bad case of black algae then my salt chlorinator broke and the walls were coated with yellow algae for a few days. I shocked the pool, brushed walls, ran the robot and filter. The yellow was dead and black was 99% gone. I had been working on the black for months with zero success until the yellow came and ate the black?

So algae eats a bacteria? Black algae is cyanobacteria. Not an algae.

It was chlorine that killed them both.
