Hi all,

I have a new (1 month) pool and connected spa and the builder left it in full time spillover mode. As expected (and by that I mean as predicted all over this awesome site) my pH is climbing. I'd like to start experimenting with running the spa/spillover a little in the morning, afternoon, and evening to keep the spa chlorinated and water moving in the pipes, but am not sure how to DO that.

I've got all Jandy equipment, iAqualink, and I see a valve that clearly controls the balance between the pool and spa returns.

I’ve seen posts that mention AUX3 and DIP switches and know what those are conceptually, but maybe don’t understand how all these things connect into the brains and how to change them.

Big goal: understand all the Ins and outs of managing these “automated” valves and how to accomplish my above plan with schedules etc.

First step: how / where can I change the balance of or move / control that valve within the system?

I feel like answers will breed more questions. I also welcome YouTube videos or links to instructions etc. I love to know how systems really work so excited to take this. thanks y’all.

Read Jandy Aqualink RS - Further Reading

Do you have anything on the AUX3 relay now?

Do you have an open relay to relocate the AUX3 relay to another AUX number?

You have an Aqualink RS4? RS6? RS8?

You will then need to adjust the cam on your return actuator to fully close the spa line when in POOL mode.

I hope you do not have the mineral cartridge in your Nature2 Fusion - Further Reading

Will do the reading. Crud! I had read about the mineral cartridge before the install but then it slipped my mind. Thanks for the reminder.

Will dig into the articles and then come back and answer about the aux etc! Thanks for replying!

Did a lot of reading. Here’s what I know and see and think.

I’m not sure if I have a RS 4,6,or 8. First pool
And the installer installed it all but I’m not sure how to tell. When I look at the pic it appears I have the lights(?) plugged into AUX3 and there are AUX plugs for 4,5,6,7 which I assume means I have free AUXs to plug into (unless all the boards look like this and the wiring and software determines if they are real or not.

I also see the SLR-PMP and a Spare on the right side. When I look on my Aqualink App I see “extra AUX” listed so my assumption is I unplug the wires from AUX 3 (the lights) and move them to “spare” and then do all the relabeling and re camming?

I feel like my understanding is getting closer but would rather verify before doing something stupid.

Hey all! Pool Builder cammed a JVA to have constant spillover in Pool Mode and the pH is doing what one would expect. IAquaLink RS but not entirely sure how to tell if I have a 4/6/8 (or honestly what that means)

I’ve read the wiki entries here and gotten other advice so I am ready to recam, flip the AUX3 dip, etc. Hopefully one last question:

My spa air blower is currently plugged into AUX3 so it needs to go somewhere and (not yet an expert on automation — first time pool owner so just learning the terms and first time I’ve looked inside the box) I’m trying to figure out which if any of these places I can move the blower.

On my app I see “extra aux” — does that mean I only have the one spare? And on the board I see the rightmost port is labeled “spare” so not sure if those are the same thing? There are also ports labeled AUX 4 thru 7. Does that mean all these are available or so all the boards look like this?

So close. Thanks ahead for the help. Feel free to explain it to me like I know nothing.

Extra AUX may be the one marked SPARE at the right side.

You may be able to use the SOLAR AUX.

Take the plug from AUX3 and put it in SPARE and see if Extra Aux controls your blower.

It works!!!

Got the dip flipped, the JVA cammed, and the spa blower plugged into the Solar Pump which was my Extra Aux (I cheated and hit up Fluidra support who both gave me the answer AND told me not to try it myself) and renamed Extra Aux to "Spa Bubbles". Tested the water and added enough acid to lower it down to a good state and will hopefully see (less) rise tomorrow and here on out.

Now onto adjusting all my schedules to make sure the spa and the spa drains get fresh/chlorinated water, etc.

Really, really thanks @ajw22 -- you got me where I wanted to go!!
