Good morning all!

I received an email/alarm yesterday regarding a communication loss: Alarm for " Home" at Jul 4, 2023 17:32:45, Reason:MSP_DEV_COMM_LOSS,Comm Loss Device:a1430fe2af HUA:OPLMP.

I initially ignored and cleared it because everything started back up fine, or so I thought. This morning at start up, I noticed no sensors were working. There is communication to the pump, but not reading anything from the salt cell, air or water temp sensors.

We did have a nasty storm last night…

Tried some initially trouble shooting but nothing has changed. Not even sure if the cell is producing chlorine at this point, as I haven’t seen any bubbles on the water.

Upon opening the panel up, I noticed what looked like a dent in one of the chips on the main board (see attached pic). I have check all of the fuses, including the 20a, 4a and slow blow glass fuses. I can’t really find anything in the manual about those slow blow glass fuses, but they do look a little cloudy and I can’t tell if they are blown.

Any advice? I see main boards online for around $1k.

Thanks in advance.

And after some further playing, none of the sensors or valves are showing in the config menu. The only control I have on the system is controlling the VSP.

Well that’s horrible news LOL.

I’m trying to locate an exact model number of the board. All I have been able find in a google search is HLX-PCB-MAIN. However the pictures from the images online dont seem to be the same as mine.

Show us a full view of your board.

What do the various labels on the board say?

You probably have an older version.

There’s a couple labels on the board that say 2022, as in the year.

You have a Rev A board.

What year does this say?

This is a Rev C board.

You can search around and see what version board various retailers have in the replacement supply chain.

Hayward may be putting a newer board in units then the replacements being sold

I don't think it will make a difference. You can call Hayward Support and see what they say.

You have an Omni PL not an Omnilogic????

We have been looking at the Omnilogic replacement boards.

The Omni PL is a different unit with a different board. That is why it is Rev A from 2022.

Sorry about that confusion. I believe it is a PL. The exact model is the HLPRO4SW.

OK === just report it does not work. Let them decide.
That’s the plan. My pool guy is out of town so I’m trying to see what I can do on my own. Spoke to someone today at Hayward and provided them all of the information for a warranty claim. Hoping to hear something in the next few days.

Thank you all for the information. For now, the pump still turns on but there are no smart feature. I’ll have to manually dose the chlorine for a little bit however.

There are 2 versions of the Omni PL. The Pro and Plus. The pro has 1 green LSBUS in the top left corner and the plus has 1 in the top left and I think 2 more right next to it. The pro has the dc converter integrated on the board where the plus has it on the right as a separate board.
