dichlor and cya

This is our second fill using the bleach method and testing kit from TFP, and I realize I still don't really understand cya. I get that I use dichlor in the beginning to bring the values up to 20 or 30, but I find the test kit really difficult to read and thought I'd just keep track of how much I add. The calculator said to add 1.1 oz, but I know this isn't enough. Somewhere in my old notes I have that I need to add 26 tsp, but now the literature I see talks about keeping track of ppm of dichlor ("so roughly 34ppm of dichlor will give you 30 cya"). How do I measure the ppm of dichlor? Any help will be much appreciated!

You using the PoolMath app?

Top left side three bars - Effects of Adding

1 oz of dichlor gives you 9.8 ppm of FC, 8.9 ppm of CYA, lowers pH by 0.4.
