we just had our pool resurfaced yesterday and we requested deep blue and the water looked greenish more like their classic color in the brochure and pool company said it has to be brushed every day for a week and then the blue color will come out. Is this true? Can there be that much of a difference when brushed?

Hi and welcome to TFP! I bet that was a shock when you saw the green tint 
BUT yes it IS very normal for the water to have a green tint to it in the beginning. It is VERY important to brush at least twice a day to get the plaster dust up and out of the water.
What kind of start up did they use? I have a couple of links for you but if your PB has a set procedure I don't want to mess you up.
