Design problem

We have been having our pool but lt since September with problems every step of the way. This new problem is the biggest and I was wondering if anyone had advice. The PB designed columns that are too big for the water from the Pentair Magicbowls to properly flow into the pool. This was just discovered and the PB seems to be at a loss as to what to do. Any suggestions?

Kelly,

Welcome to TFP... A Great resource for all your new build questions... :shark:

If the problem is the gap under the bowl, I would think that could be filled in with something decorative or worst case, the cap remove and replaced with one the fits better.

The problem that I see is that water flowing out of the bowl will not fall into the pool, but on the cap.

Tell us what you see as the problem???

Thanks,

Jim R.

Can you take a few more pics? I am thinking one from the side but not as close so we can see the details but also see the over all. If you use the IMG code the pics should show inside the post.

My first guy answer is bigger bowls. I also have another idea but need the pic above to flush it out.

In the design picture it does show the water being poured out of the bowl past the coping.

Maybe you build some stone work off that coping as a 2nd tier, the water hits that and gets directed in the pool. Or see if Pentair makes larger bowls..

or take that whole top coping off and put one with a smaller overhang.

We decided to let them try to fix the problem by making the columns smaller. That has not gone well. The latest problem is that when making the columns smaller in the pool area the gunite was thinner than they expected and they went all the way through it. They are assuring me that this isn't a big problem, but also say that it's good that they found it because it would have leaked. Now I don't know if the pool is even structurally sound. Any suggestions? This is a pic of the column they cut through.
