What do you recommend for decking options around the pool? I am thinking concrete for my plans, but I am open. (the chairs two feet too large. That area is 8 feet wide x 4 feet x 2 feet x 2 feet.

Do you think I need more decking area?

Absolutely more decking on all sides! More than you think you'll need. You will use it.... tables and chairs, loungers, portable fire pit, etc. Worse mistake anyone makes it to skimp on this as its a pain to fix after the fact.

I'd say 4' min on the back and one side, 12' is good for other two sides for all the chairs, tables and other stuff.

Get the Kool Deck or similar coating. Don't settle for brushed concrete. It may seem expensive but it's a world of difference as far as appearance. Our PB did not push it and we did not contract for it. We had not seen both side by side first hand. We ended up with the coating to cover some concrete color issues and some expansion joint cut quality we weren't satisfied with. We're very thankful we coated the deck, we really like it. It seems a little rough on the feet at first but you get used to it quickly.
Regarding your deck plan, I don't like that squared off look. I'd at least put a couple of curved bump-outs on the back and RH side big enough for two loungers.

Thanks for the idea!
