Decking and beam

Hi all! Had a fiew pieces of concrete decking replaced on our new pool. When they cut old decking out, I noticed it was sitting on top of beam. Is that ever ok? We have broken coping and tiles in one corner.

Is there a plastic runner between the coping and the tile? If so, that's usually a wide strip between the decking/coping and the beam to decouple them.

Nope, nothing between them. They already pulled off some coping and it's just mud bed and tile.
