Deciding what swg i should get

Tried adding a picture of my pool equipment. For some reason it won't let me. Anyway I was looking at the rj60 plus but having the infloor cleaning system I'm not sure it will work.

From what I understand the 60 in RJ60+ refers to 60,000 gallons. You want to have around double what your pool size is so the RJ60+ would be overkill. I have almost the same size pool as you and have a RJ30+ and it is plenty big enough. I leave it set on about 20% most of the time. As for the infloor cleaning system I don't see why it wouldn't work with it. I would think that would be hooked to the returns after the salt cell. I'm a noob tho

The cost increase to upsisze is small for the longevity gained in the bigger cell. It also let's you use lower pump runtimes which can really add up for those with single speed energy hogs. A 4X cell would only have to run 6 hours in the peak season to produce the days FC.

Also also (lol), those in hot climates (looooooong seasons) reach end of life that much sooner than those of us up north, so over-over sizing makes even more sense.

I have an RJ60+ for my 18,000 gallon pool, so it's more than 3x, but I think it is well worth the extra money. In addition to what Newdude alluded to about better longevity, it also gives you more options. For example, for my son's birthday party next month we'll run the automation in spa mode all day to keep it at the right temp. So, I'll turn the SWG off that whole day (otherwise the FC in the spa would go too high over the course of 12 hours of spa mode). So, to prepare for the party, the night before I'll run the SWG in Super CL mode, which will raise FC by a few PPM to give a buffer for it being off all the following day, then that night run in Super CL again, and FC the day after the party will right where it needs to be, and I'll go back to normal with the SWG.

Duly noted! I could really see the benefit from that if you had a single speed pump. I leave my RJ30+ on about 20% all the time and watch my FC drift up, when it gets close to the upper limit I back it off to 15% and watch it drift down. I have my pump set to run 1200 rpm for 23 hours a day and 2400 for 1 hour a day. I keep meaning to back it off from 1200 rpm to 1000 rpm but haven't made time to do it yet. I'm still experimenting but happy overall at the same time. My builder had my pump set a lot higher at first and after some TFP reading I lowered it down and there was a noticeable difference on the electric bill.

I finally got around to playing with mine a week ago (a year later. Lol) and the cell shut off at 600 RPMs. It might not if I cleaned the filter because there's some spring crud in there reducing the flow a little. 700 RPMs was 35 watts. It's crazy how much energy VS pumps save.

You sound like me, (a year later) ! I would like to get down to 800rpm but seems like I tried that early on and saw the flow light flickering. That was when I was just getting my feet wet and hadn't figured out how it even worked yet.
