CYA question

Pool school used to have a wonderful pool math on the website that would calculate how much water to take out to lower CYA.

Now, I use the app. It is nice but it just advises to let a little water out.

Can you tell me how to calculate how much water to take out?

If you want to remove 50% of your CYA, drain 50% of your water.

If you want to remove 10%, take out 10% of your water

Yeah, CYA removal is the most simple calculation because fill water contains zero.

For something more complicated like CH or just an alternative to the app the webpage does still exist. There's a link to it at the bottom of every page of the forum, or just right here: PoolMath

I use Dave's easy-math method as well. But for future reference, along with the new PoolMath APP, the old Poolmath web page calculator is still available at the bottom of each TFP web page titled Old Poolmath Webpage.
