CYA and solar blanket

I thought I had read somewhere that when adding CYA, you should not have your solar blanket on the pool as it can cause it to go brittle faster. If so, at what point can you put it back on again?

No. You can add the CYA via the sock method with the cover on or off.

Thanks. Maybe it was shocking the pool that you take the solar blanket off?

Not really. Though it is best to leave the cover off when SLAM as it allows the CC to burn off. A one time 'shock' accomplishes nothing.
