Hi,

Was wondering if anyone has gotten a cover-pools automatic pool cover to talk to an IntelliCenter. I saw in CoverStar Sensor with IntelliCenter where @dustindclark said:
For anyone interested, I've confirmed the above to be the case. The IntelliCenter pool cover module will work with any cover that can open/close a circuit (which should virtually be any cover). In fact, there's a setting in the panel for this circuit to be normally open or closed...which should have been a big clue. Anyways, not sure why Pentair doesn't advertise this comparability, but I'm happy that I can connect it to my CoverPools cover.
My pool builder put in a magnetic switch on the Cover-Pools pool cover and ran the wire back to the IntelliCenter and then tied the switch into a relay. That's not very useful IMO. I would love to be able to get the Pool Cover Expansion Card for the IntelliCenter and hook it up to the magnetic switch. I called Pentair and they said it would not work - at least he couldn't find anything to suggest it would work.

The Pool Cover Expansion Card will allow the IntelliCenter to detect whether the cover is on or off the pool. Primarily so you have additional control over the IntelliChlor and other circuits. You should be able to wire the magnetic reed switch sensor that your PB installed into that card to achieve this.

@wgipe IIRC you have this expansion card? If so does that sound correct?
