What do you use to lube pool cover anchors when you open/close the pool? I know this has been discussed and the general consensus has been to lubricate them (either wd40, general silicon spray, pool lube for o rings as wel). But I haven’t seen anti-seize specifically being recommended. Any particular reason why? Sounds like a minor thing but I don’t want to deal with the nightmare of digging out stripped or stuck anchors this year.

Each Spring and fall some members do the following:
  • Unscrew the inside anchor from its base
  • Rinse off all the dirt from the threads and let dry
  • Then use silicone lube on the threads.
They get tough to turn when dirt builds up in the threads. If any one of them gets tough to turn even after lubrication, then replace with a new anchor.

Thanks for the replies. Keeping them clean seems to be key along with some silicone. (y)
