What do you use to lube pool cover anchors when you open/close the pool? I know this has been discussed and the general consensus has been to lubricate them (either wd40, general silicon spray, pool lube for o rings as wel). But I haven’t seen anti-seize specifically being recommended. Any particular reason why? Sounds like a minor thing but I don’t want to deal with the nightmare of digging out stripped or stuck anchors this year.

Each Spring and fall some members do the following:
- Unscrew the inside anchor from its base
- Rinse off all the dirt from the threads and let dry
- Then use silicone lube on the threads.
I tried antisieze and it did not resist water very well. It moved off the anchor threads and on to the concrete. I only tried it on a couple. I now use pool silicone.
Thanks for the replies. Keeping them clean seems to be key along with some silicone. 
Using lube or oil is only going to attract and retain dirt.

True that, 27 years and i have done nothing with mine.
I’ve serviced hundreds of pools, never did anything to anchors. I also use an extended drill bit on my drill and just screw them down in the springtime, zero need to remove straps before screwing them down.
