Cove or Sand?

So were getting ready to install our brand new 18x52 steel wall AGP. Were sinking in 2 feet into the ground with a retaining wall around the pool to avoid pressure from soil in case we need to change liner or what not.
My question is, what's better for the installation, a leveled sand bottom with a sand cove or a leveled sand bottom forming a sand cove?

Depends on what someone considers better to be.

Sand is cheaper and if done correctly works just fine.

Foam is more expensive but far easier to work with.

Sand and sand are the same thing. I would go foam.
