Could I please get SWG, Pump, and Filter recommendations for 21' round AGP?

Will be setting up a 21' round above ground pool this year and would like to please get recommendations on pump, filter, and salt water generator. I know there is debate between a sand and cartridge filter so I am open to any debate. No specific budget in mind, just looking for best value for the money.

Also, should I have my electrician run 115V or 230V to the pool? I assumed 115, but just wanted to get an opinion.

Thank you!

Most VS pumps are 230V. So it would be best to get that.

I would suggest a Calimar or Black and Decker VS pump (3 hp), a 250+ SF cartridge filter, and a SWCG rated for at least 30K. You will want to hard pipe all of this.

There are many with a standalone system (no automation). Circupool is good. Also Hayward makes basic systems. A Circupool RJ30 or bigger would be a good choice.

You will want to set up everything so the SWCG does not get power to it when the pump is off. So you will need some kind of timer for the SWCG so that when the VS pump is scheduled to be off (VS pumps have their own scheduler on them) the power to the SWCG is off.

You are in PA, so I will be winterizing each year. So keep that in mind when laying out your equipment (ease of access, etc)

Me, I like DE filters, but some people find them to be overkill, some find them to be a pain in the rear, and in some places they are straight up illegal.

You can see my components in my signature. I have a 27' pool and that equipment does just fine.

I would go with a 2 speed or VS pump though. I only have 120V at my pool and it is quite a run to upgrade it.

I will say, hard plumbing makes a big difference. I order my equipment from Doheny's. - Pool Supply - Doheny's Pool Supplies

They are in PA (I'm in NJ) and I found they have some of the best prices for what I needed, and very fast delivery.
