Plaster
Chlorine
Salt Water Generator
SWG Type
Pentair Intellichlor IC-40
The pool was built in 1977 - No Lights.

I use a robotic vacuum, but it has a Vacuum return that is plugged in and not used. 1.5 Inch threaded pipe is currently plugged.

1- can it be converted to use a Nicheless 1.5 light?
2- If yes, what light do I use? I will only have 1 light, so I will want it as bright as possible. I would like it to have colours

I am connected to a Pentair Intellicenter for control.

Thanks

How far below the water line is the vacuum return line? My concern is that the light will be quite bright near the surface. Also you would not want evaporation to lower the water level and expose the light. Do you have an autofil system?

Can it be done? Yes. A vacuum port is not usually as far down in the water as a pool light, but unless you have a massive leak your water should never get that low. Problem is usually how far back into the pool wall is there room for a nicheless light to fit. Sometimes there is a 90 right at the opening and that would limit what would fit. After that they all work and have the same limited life.
