Let me be nice and send a picture to the PB first. I would imagine there is some sort of hydraulic cement they can use to fix it but it looks to me like the light niche is currently leaking a little... I don't think it's the conduit. At least the plumbing is holding 30 psi on that cheapo Hayward gauge that is now fogged up and full of water with the first hard rain...
 
This showed up... Probably to get another check. No tile (ok, I would rather have it cure a full week)... And I thought that the electrician would be back first but I suppose they can close most of the trench before the rest of that is done... My only concern is that the builder stopped doing paver driveways in the neighborhood because it got to the point that more than 30% were getting stolen. My Ring camera can see them, and I am tempted to leave a note on the pallates about that fact and maybe something about a Mossberg! :). Didn't think of this when we chose pavers.... Another thing to babysit over the weekend...

Yeah.. you really can't say anything that has "initials" in it now, can you? Plus the pumper is more effective anyway! :) Enough of that..

I am not entirely certain what the paver pattern will be but there are seven palettes of tile and four different sizes including the coping. So there will be a pattern in it. I posted the computer simulation picture of it I think in the "introduce yourself" thread. I expect it will be similar to that.

Those pavers are "Phoenix Pavers" and I don't recall which one, but they are the lightest color we could get. (I'll see if I can find the specs this evening.) I was really worried about it being so hot that we'd hate it, but at 106°F yesterday when I got home ambient... I put my hand on the top of the palette and then on the sidewalk and the pavers were only slightly hotter... not enough to worry about. I should shoot them (there I go again!) with the IR thermometer this weekend.. interesting idea... The sun was low in the sky, but both had been sitting since before noon.

As for the tile. I was worried because well, my wife and I picked it out in April, IIRC. So we kinda forgot what the pavers and the tile look like. Together I think they look nice and that Irish Mist PebbleSheen should match as well. The tile guy liked that the tile was smooth, he mentioned that he's had to do a lot of repairs lately and most people are picking highly textured tiles.. like the type of tile that his next job today is using (which was similar to mine but much more textured-- he showed me those) were what every one seemed to be using. He said that they looked like they were in the pool for 5 years after three months here. The calcium scaling at the waterline in Arizona is really a big problem and he said smooth was a much better choice, as you can green pad them down effectively. He also said that he doesn't judge color but he went "okay" when he saw our pavers in the front yard.

He did confirm that over 80% of the people here use blue and blue... so we did want to get away from that. Oddly enough though the next job is a brown color all around.. so we are the oddballs for the week. Since Pebble Tec Peeble Sheen is the plaster of choice here and only one blue isn't a large upgrade, there are MANY pools with that one color and the two or three Noble tile choices (Local office in Tucson) that match it.. so I am glad we dared to be different. Hopefully I won't think I have algae all the time...or miss it if I get it, eh?
 
For the Tucson peeps, I suppose... Well I finally stopped into E Konomy on Speedway and got the run down on the HASA 13% chlorine and HCl. Now I understand what it is. With the punch card thing they do it's the cheapest source for chlorine and HCl especially. Now I need to decide if I want to drive 40 minutes each way up there... I could still see adding Wally 10% when I don't have time to run up there.
 
Next year. I want to learn how to do all of this before adding one... I wasn't even offered the option by the PB but then again I didn't want to push either because I can do it.

Early spring, self install...

Hopefully.. If I am still here by then... Been a really tough week....
