Any suggestions on a concrete paint or stain that will not be slippery for the kids (and adults) around the pool?

First off I would like to ask why you are thinking of doing this? Let us see what you are working with and we might have some ideas.

I did a rock salt finish on bare concrete with a light color overlay. It is pretty non-slip even when wet.

Also, being a light color, it does not burn the feet. My Oklahoma flat stone coping around the pool is hotter than the concrete down here in the Texas sun.
