If I'm not doing the slam method and just routinely testing my pool could I use half the 0.5 per 10 ml dosing for example use 5ml of water and one Dipper the add FAS dpd in? I tried it and got the same results just making sure it wasn't a fluke.

You kind of have it backwards, you want the 0.5 precision for normal use but we sometimes suggest using the 5ml and 1.0 precision during a SLAM to save reagents.
