Compool to Easytouch control panel J2D RJ12 connector

Does anyone know how the RJ12 connector is wired to the EasyTouch board or even why the J2D exists? I figured if I could just plug my current cable into their and then cut the wires on the opposite end for my control panel I’d have more room on the J20 com port to add equipment.

Looks like it either plugs into the RJ45 com port connector, or you need an adapter to connect it to the standard 4 pin com port.

Just to be clear, many different things can all be connected to the same com port connector.
