also curious when I should do my first cya level testing as I’ve read it takes a few days to be accurate

in theory I added enough to get level to 20.

still no issue with my eyeball with long tube pointed up?

Added cya via sock method yesterday afternoon into early evening

about 3 lbs with (1 lb per raises 10,000 gallon by 10 - according to package, roughly 15,000 gallon pool)

got my hands on some 12.5% liquid chlorine

i picked lowes over yesterday for all the good jugs of 10%

For accuracy, it's best to wait for at least 24hrs+ AND have bright (indirect) sunlight available.

Awesome chlorine find! Make sure to use the highest % first as it will degrade alittle faster (but over the course of a couple months if stored in cool/dark area)

(personal experience, I have (6jugs) of 10% liquid chlorine bought from Walmart LAST YEAR that is now just over a year old that is still working @ 8.25%-10% strength (based on PoolMath estimate of my dosage & FC test results), this is not typical, lol, but I was able to secure them fresh from indoor storage @ the store AND keep them stored in dark stable climate controlled myself.)
 
All the ones at Lowe’s were outdoor, covered in soil and beat up pretty bad. I bought 10 jugs and have 1 left.

Bought 4 jugs of 12.5% from a local pool store. Pricey but it’s Sunday and I wanna get the job done !

check around 8
do my final dose then
get my #s at 9ish

changed filter
scrubbed ring from shock

scrubbed skimmer and eyeball

brushed walls

They feel slick, not necessarily slimy anymore

added 40 ounces 12.5 %

will head out around 9 for my final read of the night and fingers crossed can hold overnight

based on what the pool did yesterday if she can stop twice I will have her put a 3rd if a jug in, if once 1/2 jug.....

hopefully I don’t lose too much ground today

That will help a lot! =) Anytime there's a bump in the available chlorine, the better!
 
Lost some ground today (I treated this morning, then had a friend and my spouse finish an entire bottle of 12.5 percent through day)

tested cya
hazy but could still see black dot when filled to top

Put a bit more in sock to run overnight

Will year again between 830 and 9 for my evening #s
 
Is your pool clear enough to see the bottom? If so, you can swim at SLAM level.
 
Sadly I lost more ground overnight

dropped from 13 at 9pm to 7 (0500)

We did get a pretty good rainstorm which bumped my water level to top of skimmer

I did add the additional cya yesterday since I could still see the black dot when filled to top


I have someone stopping or who should be able add twice for me todat

and I have a short day and should be home by 3

have to figure out a game plan for wed and th afraid I’m gonna lose a ton of ground again
