I know I skipped a step.. After heating the spa... then turning it off make the jets shoot out COLD water? What did I forget to do?

When in spa mode you want the suction port set to come 100% from the spa. If you accidentally draw any water from the pool the jets will be cold.
Yeah, when heating the spa, you don't want to see any spillover to the pool.
The last time I had a bunch of people over to swim, the spa was a lot warmer than the pool and as the sun went down, the kids gravitated towards the spa. When they didn't want to get out, I just killed the heat and moved the valves and chilled them out.
