Cloudy water

Help!! I’ve been fighting a cloudy pool for weeks. Tested water yesterday. Noticing possible old algae on walls deep in the water. I have 24 ft round pool, 52in walls, sand filter.

With a CYA of 200, it isn't possible to maintain enough sanitizing HOCl to keep algae at bay.

How did you determine a CYA of 200?

I’m using the Taylor 2600 test kit and determined the CYA by following the directions in the top to get that number

The directions don't have a way to measure 200.

Do the diluted CYA test...

repeat the test adjusting the procedure as follows:

1. Fill the mixing bottle to the lower mark (15 ml line) with pool water.
2. Continue filling the mixing bottle to the upper mark (30 ml line) with tap water.
3. Shake briefly to mix.
4. Pour off half of the contents of the mixing bottle, so it is again filled to the lower mark (15 ml line).
5. Continue the test normally from adding R-0013, but multiply the final result by two.

If you need to dilute the pool water further, to get a test result below 90, then apply these ratios:
