Any level below the SLAM level is safe, but if you're still seeing the dot at full tube, you might be lower than 20 PPM Cya.
I raised my levels up to SLAM before doing my SWG conversion, and it took FOREVER for it to come back down. Exposure to UV is one way. Once it was safe, even though ours was up around 15PPM or so, I just took every opportunity to jump in the pool. Sweat, oils, etc brought it down. And I hear that urine is surprisingly effective at neutralizing chlorine...
Which reminds me of an interesting thought I had at the time. Peeing in the pool? Yeah, it happens sometimes. But peeing INTO the pool? That's over a line for me...
