I am stumped! Since Thursday our pool has looked cloudy and while we did get some rain and heavy winds earlier in the week I figured it would clear up by now. Here are things that I have done since Thursday.

1. Brushed every other day.
2. Backwashed (sand filter)
3. Added chlorine there was 0
4. Balanced the PH which was 8.0
5. Cleaned all skimmers daily (added sock also)

Here are my current test results and according to PoolMath I am still in range. My robot is broken so i am just brushing and picking the leaves as needed. Yes, I do see some pollen but not as bad as earlier in the week. Any thoughts on what I could be missing?

Ph - 7.6
Fc - 5
TA - 90
Cya - 55

You need to have a FAS/DPD test for FC testing. Not sure what a TF-2005 is. Do you mean K-2005 which is a Taylor kit as is K-1000.
Also could you expand on what Hayward “stuff” you have as it is helpful to know what type of pump, filter, etc.
Thanks I just updated my signature.

Yes I have the FAS/DPD Test

In the heat of summer, it is best if you can test and replace FC every 2-3 hours. Even every 2 hours help. Any more often is not necessary.

It's raining in San Antonio but not heavy. I have actually started to pump out some water since my CYA is 90. Going to try to get my CYA down to 60 first, balance PH, then start the SLAM (chlorine). I have scrubbed and backwashed twice. Once last night and this morning. All skimmer baskets have been emptied multiple times just in case.

7/24 @ 7:30am
CYA - 90
PH - 8.0
FC - 6 (I threw in some chlorine last night just to raise chlorine levels)

When you have time between your testing you may wish to update your signature on the Test Kit. Since you have the FAS/DPD test then change your K-2005 to K-2006. The K-2006 is a K-2005 + FAS/DPD. This way others won't need to ask if you are using FAS/DPD to test FC.

Take a picture daily of your pool now that SLAM is in progress. It is easier to refer back a day or 2 to see improvement in your color if you have photos to compare.
