Closing - lowering water level / pump to waste

OK, newbie question. I want to close the pool this weekend. I'd like to lower the water level a few inches below the skimmer returns, but have no idea how to lower the water level at the pump. I can set it to waster but where exactly do I hook up the roll-out hose, if anywhere, to get the water out of the pool. For some of you it might be a rudimentary question, I know, and pictures of the equipment are attached. Am I supposed to unscrew the large diameter pipe visible on the left by the multiport? I tried unscrewing it by hand actually, it'a tight, not moving. Thanks for your help.

When you set the lever to waste where does the water come out of? That is where you would put the hose if you need to.

Not coming out of anywhere... I have not tried since I'm worried it would break the pump. YOu see that blocked off white pipe on the left? Is that it? See no other open outlets.

Do a search on your filter model and see what the manual says. You can also shot me your model so I can take a look at it as well. Your filter is different than mine so I am not sure how it works.

Are you looking to close the pool and clear the water in the lines, or are you trying to empty the whole pool?

Well, figured it out, had to unscrew the white dead end pipe... Lowering the water level for pool closing... Just below the tiles. Thanks for your responses!
