Closing Above Ground Pool for the First Time

Is there a "go to" post on how to winterize an above-ground pool?

My pool store says dump double the amount of shock and then a load of something they sell at the store. He said it's a mix of antifreeze and something else. Should I just do what he says or is there a recommended method from this awesome community?

I will follow the procedures here. The pool store is trying to sell me some algecide. I think I might get it. Anyway.

I don't know much about my pump and how to disassemble it. But hopefully I'll be able to figure it out.

Please make sure it is a NON-copper based product (i.e. polyquat 60).
