cleaning salt cell (IC40) for winter storage

I have not found any definitive answer on this by searching,so figure ill just ask,i have removed the salt cell for winter and put the dummy pipe in its place-my question is how do I go about or do I even need to clean the inside of the cell itself which is a Pentair IC40

Do you see white scale on the plates? If it looks clean then there is nothing to do.

If there is some scale then first try and and blast the scale off with water. If you need to get more off then you need to do an acid wash. Note that every time you acid wash the cell your educe its life. So don;' acid wash more then necessary.
