Looking for some help with valve settings before I remove my salt cell for first time cleaning. I only have three valves and one pump in my set-up. Two of then are actuated and one is manual (photo with arrow). The first photo shows the actuated valve settings for the spa only to circulate and the jets to work. Third photo shows the "default" position of the valves with water pumped into the spa for the spillway to empty into the pool and suction into the skimmer. Looks like top valve controls flow out to the pool/spa from the pump and the lower valve controls flow from pool/spa via the drains. The third (manual) valve stays in that full open position. To avoid a geyser when I remove the lid on the pump, I turn it 90 degrees counterclockwise so the off tab is pointing to the pipe to the right of the valve. It's also connected to a pipe that goes straight down into the ground which I have no idea what that might be connected to. Last photo shows the location of my salt generator. I'm thinking that the top valve needs to have the off tab pointing in the direction of the salt cell to block any water flow to it while I remove it for cleaning. Just not sure how to turn the handle to that position or if I would be doing the right thing. It has a toggle switch on the back which has an off position. Does that disengage it so I can move it manually? The Pentair instructions aren't helpful.
