Clean filter before slam?

Slacked off on maintenance and now have mustard algae, couple of days ago brushed and vacuumed, visible algae is gone but now in filter, no pressure drop. Is it beneficial to clean the filter(DE) now before I slam or is ok to slam and then start fresh by cleaning the filter?

No pressure increase from clean, I was thinking the algae currently in the filter will get killed during the slam so no need to clean prior to slam, is this correct? thanks

Correct. The filter is bathed in the same water as the pool.
