Citric Acid vs Ascorbic Acid for stain removal

The directions for metal stain removal call for .5 to 1 pound of AA per 10K gallons. I am using Citric so need to know the comparable dose rate to use. Thanks.

So 1 pound of ascorbic acid is equivalent to 1.2 pounds of citric acid which is equivalent to 0.5 pounds of oxalic acid.

thanks for quick reply! So I need to use 20% more citric acid. Is this process just all pH driven? In other words if I use muriatic acid to get the same pH reduction would that work too?

I tried Citric acid on mine and it didn't do much..Ascorbic acid knocked it out fast..I used 10 pds in a 20K pool

Follow the process. Yes, you have to lower your pH to 7.2. And you have to use AA.
