Chlorine way too high

So my kit just came in so been going blind since opening.

FC: 23
CC: 0
TA: 100
CYA < 20
PH 7.2

I added 2 lbs of stabilizer when I opened the pool thinking I'd rather be under than over and then clearly I went way too high during slam. Wanted to slam and keep chlorine high knowing I couldn't test. Not sure how it got so high, my guess is I haven't really been pulling the solar cover off much.

Right now I'm thinking of keeping the CYA low to burn off chlorine?
Or should I bump CYA to keep more chlorine locked up.

Went for a dip today despite the results and was fine but obviously longer than a few min could be an issue.

There's no rush for the FC to fall. However, you will want the CYA good and mixed at 30 when the FC gets to range, so I'd get going on that.

Did you pass an OCLT ?

That's valid. I'll start moving the CYA up.

Sun should set in about an hour or so. Finally got most of the debris vacuumed out, still a little bit of organic material but not much. I'll test again tonight and should be able to test around 5 or 6am right when the sun is coming up.

Hopeful I'll pass right away this year! Pools been open for about 20 days so been shocking/slamming blind.
