Chlorine loss with floating slat safety cover

We have a floating slatted safety cover that rolls up out of the pool. It is white and opaque. Am I right to think/hope that because 99% plus of pool surface is in shade the chlorine loss due to sun will be almost zero?
Does it follow that I could do the overnight chlorine loss test during the day?

Your chlorine loss will be less during the day. But I would not use that as a substitute for a Overnight Chlorine Loss Test
