We can’t seem to maintain our chlorine. We had a slight algae problem. Leslie’s had us dump a Crud ton of shock. I found this site and gave up Leslie’s. Here are my current stats.

Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to confirm algae - raise FC to 5-10ppm using PoolMath.
SLAM Process to eliminate algae, if confirmed.
You'll need a proper test kit.

Okay. Confirmed chlorine loss. I know I need to complete SLAM but leaving town. Should I just maintain 5 ppm until I get back or start SLAM and maintain 5ppm? On a side note, my pool looks beautiful. Just can’t maintain chlorine level. Do I need to worry about TDS?

I would raise the pool to SLAM level and add some chlorine tabs to a floater in the pool. Then cross your fingers, depending on how long you'll be out of town. 
With a proper test kit, the SLAM process is easy and will get you to a good place easily. But there's no way to do SLAM without being at your pool.
