Hi,
We have had lots of problems with our current “completed” build. We are having recurrent algae in our spa and recently adjusted to have water continuously flowing from pool to spa. However, when in spa mode, water doesn’t run through the chlorinator. A company we had come assist with checking the integrity of the pool thinks is a problem, but the builder does not. I really don’t want to hang out in unchlorinated water with my neighbors after it’s heated and that zaps the chemicals. Please advise on chlorinator placement. Thank you!

P,

Since you have a "tab Feeder" instead of a Saltwater cell, your pool builder is correct..

The tab feeder is set to chlorinate the whole pool.. When in the Spa mode you would have a lot of chlorine flowing into a small body of water.

If you have a salt system and automation, it would automatically reduce the amount of chlorine when in the spa mode.

In theory, unless you plan to hang out for hours in your spa with your neighbors, it should not matter.. The spa overflow should keep your spa water fresh.

Thanks

Jim R.
