Chlorinator is spitting snowflakes

New pool install. Pool builders cleaners clogged my system during the final clean before opening. After cycling power the next morning , it cleared and shortly after that, it started spitting out large snow flakes. Every day since opening, during the cleaning cycle, the swc sheds build up. My pool chemicals are fine and have been since opening but the snowflakes persist and the pool builder is not accepting responsibility for the issue. If the clog caused the issue of the build up on the plates, is there a solution? Jandy tru clear.

Test Kits Compared - You need a proper test kit.

How do the plates look on the SWCG? You might be experiencing excessive scale which can lead to cell failure.
Scale is caused by improper chemistry, which you need a test kit to assess.

What filter do you have?

Red dirt that had collected in the bottom of the pool. They cleaned it out (the final clean)with my system instead of the remote cleaning vacuum device.

I think they know there’s an issue with the swc plates from the excessive heat caused by a slow drop in pressure before cutting off. They haven’t looked at the swc. They say it’s algae, then a guy came out and tried to sell me it was concrete slag build up. Not one look at the snowflakes or swc.

SWCG does not produce heat. When you say drop in pressure, what do you mean?

If you turn on the pump and the pool returns have good flow, then slowly degrade, then your filter is likely the issue. You could have algae, which you need a good test kit to ascertain, or there could be other non-sand materials in your sand filter.

Every pool will show some level of debris in front of a light in the dark, so unless it's accumulating on the pool floor, then that might not be your issue.

Snowflakes are *typically* caused by excessive calcium scale. This is new pool so your water chemistry needs to be checked almost daily or every other day and you absolutely need to know your CH and TA levels. You need to provide this info or there’s little advice we can give. This means getting your own test kit and testing the water yourself. We can’t help you unless you help us with accurate information otherwise it’s all just guesses.
